    Application of the Guided Inquiry Model to Improve Student's Motivation and Creativity

    The application of an attractive learning model is one of the things that affect students' motivation and creativity in learning. The review results so far show that learning activities are still using conventional learning models such as direct learning models. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the guided inquiry learning model in increasing students' motivation and creativity on temperature and heat material at SMAN 4 Wira Bangsa Aceh Barat. The research method used was pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The instrument used in the study consisted of a questionnaire. The results showed that applying the guided inquiry learning model could increase students' motivation in the matter of temperature and heat. Increasing students' learning motivation can be seen from the average N-gain value of 0.6, including the medium category. The results of the average difference test obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, meaning that there was a significant difference before and after applying the guided inquiry learning model. Then the results of the analysis of indicators on aspects of attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction obtained a score > 80 then included in excellent categories. The application of the guided inquiry learning model can increase students' creativity in the material of temperature and heat. Increasing students' creativity can be obtained an average N-gain value of 0.7, including the high category. The results of the average difference test got a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that there was a significant difference before and after applying the guided inquiry learning model. The results of the analysis of indicators through the results of questionnaires and observations consisting of fluency, flexibility, and novelty obtained an average score of > 75, including the high category. The conclusion in this study proves that the guided inquiry model can increase students' motivation and creativity on temperature and temperature heat material

    The Use of Instagram to Increase the Outcome in Learning the Reaction Rate in Chemistry Subject

    The reaction rate is one of the abstract chemical materials so it requires visualization that can describe the reaction rate events in a more realistic way so that it is more easily understood by students. Visualization can help students be able to observe the symptoms that occur, collect data and draw conclusions from the videos or images presented and improve student learning outcomes. Social media such as Instagram is very possible to be applied in the chemistry learning process which requires visualization to explain some chemistry concepts like reaction rate. The use of Instagram can help students observe the symptoms that occur in the reaction rate through the videos or images presented. Instagram is considered very appropriate to be used to convey learning material that requires visualization to increase students' understanding. The research method used was quasi-experimental with the use of experimental class and control class and shaped Posttest-Only Design. Based on the results of the study, the learning outcomes in the cognitive domain average value of the experimental class was 80.83 and the average value of the control class was 73.83 with increased learning outcomes N-gain of 0.26. Assessment of learning outcomes in the affective and psychomotor domains with the use of final score on a scale of 1 to 4. Calculation of the final score uses the score comparison formula obtained with the maximum score multiplied by the maximum score. In the present study, a final score with an average affective and psychomotor score of 3.21 and 3.04 was obtained respectively

    PENGARUH EKSTRAK DAUN KIRINYUH (EUPHATORIUM ODORATUM L.) TERHADAP DAYA TETAS TELUR IKAN BANDENG (CHANOS CHANOS)

    ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan ekstrak daun kirinyuh (Euphatorium odoratum L.) terhadap daya tetas telur ikan bandeng (Channos channos). Studi ini dilaksanakan di laboratorium Balai Budidaya Perikanan Air Payau, Ujoeng Batee, Aceh Besar, pada Bulan Juni 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan tujuh taraf perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak, yaitu 0 (kontrol), 100, 120, 140, 160,180 dan 200 ppm. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun kirinyuh berpengaruh nyata (P< 0,05) terhadap daya tetas telur ikan bandeng. Konsentrasi 120 ppm merupakan konsentrasi optimum dengan daya tetas sebesar 85,00%.Kata kunci: Ikan bandeng, Euphatorium odoratum L., Daya tetas, Saprolegnia sp.?ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to determine the effect of Euphatorium odoratum L. leaf extract on the hatching rate of milkfish eggs (Channos chanos). This research was carried out at Laboratory of Brackish water Aquaculture Development Center, Ujoeng Batee, Aceh Besar. District on June, 2016. The research used the Completely Randomized Design with seven treatments and three replications. The extract concentrations were: 0, 100, 120, 140, 160, 180 and 200 ppm. The result of ANOVA showed that the extract gane the significant effect on, the hatching rate of milkfish eggs.     Learning of Multimedia-Based Physics Concept Applications to Improve Students’ Motivation and Science Process Skills

    Physics concept application is widely applied in daily life but students have a lack of knowledgeconcerning the concept of physics application. This research aimed to examine the motivation and skills of the scientific process through learning the concept of multimedia-based physics applications. This is experimental research, conducted on Year IX students of Islamic Senior High School. Samples were taken with purposive sampling techniques and divided into two groups of Mastery Learning Scores (MLS), MLS ≥ 70 and MLS&lt; 70. Data were collected from Pre-test and post-test. The motivational data was presented through the category table, while the science process skills were analyzed using the Independent sample t-test. After the treatment, the initial motivation of the MLS class ≥ 70 was increased from 66.1% to 81.9%, while it was from 63% to 82.5% for the MLS class&lt; 70. Besides, the final science process skillswere significantly different between the two classes, indicating byt count &gt;t table 2.14 &gt; 1.65. This study suggested that learning concepts of multimedia-based physics applications can improve student motivation in both classes, while the science process skills only affect the students of the MLS group ≥ 70

    GPA Comparison of Students Admission in SNMPTN and SBMPTN in Department of Physics Education FKIP Unsyiah

    The comparative research with a quantitative approach aims to find out the comparison of the GPA of student admission the SNMPTN and SBMPTN entry points at the Department of Physics Education FKIP Unsyiah. The sample in this study were students of Physics Education 2017-2018 who admission form the SNMPTN 47 students and the SBMPTN 57 students. The collection of research data through the documentation method of admission and transcripts of students grades at the Department of Physics Education FKIP Unsyiah. Analysis and processing data using comparative analysis for two different samples (independent) with using the two samples t-tests. The result of ttest (t0) = 0,71 and ttable (tα) = 1,980. The conclusion in the study, there is no difference in the GPA of students who pass through the SNMPTN and SBMPTN entrance lines at the Department of Physics Education FKIP Unsyiah for the 2017-2018 class
